AWARD OBJECTIVE
• To recognise outstanding talent in those new to the radio broadcasting industry.
• To recognise excellence in new broadcasters from the Journalist craft group who show outstanding talent and/or promise.
AWARD DESCRIPTION
This award is made to a broadcaster, with less than two years full time employment in broadcasting in radio in New Zealand, who demonstrated outstanding talent and/or promise in the area of Journalism.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A written submission of no more than 600 words.
2. A letter from the station manager confirming that entrant has not yet completed 2 years full-time employment in New Zealand broadcasting. Note that internship is not deemed to be part of this period but those whose service includes previous overseas experience in radio or New Zealand experience in television are not eligible.
3. Audio example of work:
• Audio duration maximum is 12 minutes.
• Entry must contain a range of stories (minimum of 3)
• Contents, date and duration of each story must be listed.
4. Provide:
• Evidence of major achievements during the year
• Evidence of multi-tasking, innovative or proactive approaches.
• Letters of affidavits of support
